Sam Cornish talk at Gallery Photogroup

From Lyn Newton, Secretary Gallery Photogroup

“Sam Cornish (son of Joe) is visiting us on Tuesday 31st October at 7.00 pm to tell stories of two very different landscapes, illustrated by photographs he took whilst undertaking fieldwork there. They are the mountains of northern Oman and the periglacial mountains, islands and plains of northwestern Canada, where the annual freeze-thaw cycle imprints a variety of unusual patterns on the surface. Sam will describe how he has used high-resolution photography as a tool for geological analysis, and takes a look at how some of the world’s favourite photographic locations came to be. It promises to be a very interesting evening.”
