From Tony Mearman
With just over a week to go, there are still a few places available for photographers wishing to get involved in the world’s largest organised photography event. There are hundreds of walks taking place all over the world and thousands of photographers participating. This is the first time the WWPW has taken place in Durham with 14 DPS members having already registered.
The walk will be officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Durham at the Town Hall steps in the marketplace at 10 am, a great location for a group photograph! We will then be photographing some of Durham’s iconic locations for about 2 hours, then afterwards we have arranged a social get together with drinks on the Prince Bishop River Cruise, another opportunity to make new friends and grab a few shots from a different perspective.
Our sponsors have donated lots of prizes for the best images from the day and hopefully some members of our group will be amongst the successful recipients. There will also be a prize for the best image from the Durham walk so good luck to all those taking part.
There are still a few places left so if you would like to join us you can register online:
