The 38th Northern Counties International Salon of Photography has its closing date in a few days – midnight on Friday the 1st September. This year it is a PDI-only event and, for those who have not entered an international before, it’s a great starting point for gaining photographic honours such as AFIAP or PPSA.
There are four sections: Open Colour, Open Mono, Travel and Nature and up to four images (the usual 1400×1050 pixels max) can be entered in each section. The entry process is very straightforward, being done online via the Salon website and, as there is a 20% discount for NCPF members, you won’t find a cheaper one in Britain – only £8.00 to enter one section and £2.40 for each additional section, but it’s up to you how many sections you go for. Payment can be through Paypal, or cheques can be sent to Jane Black at the address given on the Salon website.
The aim is to have images accepted by the Salon – no mean feat! However, there are also medals and ribbons for the best pictures and, additionally for NCPF members only, the chance to win a Northumbria Trophy (there’s one for each section).
