Craftspeople of the North East Opening at the Arts Centre Washington

From John Cogan

The work of the Portraits from the North East group continues to gather momentum. This week our hangman-in-chief, Ian Peele, ably assisted by others of the team, assembled our current exhibition of Craftspeople at the Arts Centre, Washington. This is our third venue and the first that is a purpose-built gallery space, complete with flexible white-walls and dedicated lighting, specially designed to make the most of the exhibits.

We open, officially, on Friday 7th July and run throughout the month finishing in the first week of August. The venue is a dedicated arts centre working to promote art in all its forms. There are other features, a shop and a cafe for the obligatory hot beverage and lemon drizzle cake. We hope as many of you can visit the centre as possible. It has already expressed an interest in being a venue for our next project.

The address is Biddick Lane, Washington, NE38 8AB
