Club Night News: 29th June

Mark Parvin: Projects

We were fortunate to see AVs of four of Mark’s projects (he has many more): Yorkshire Christmas Markets, The Ragged Victorians re-enactors, Wimbledon tennis on Court 4 and the Notting Hill Carnival. Each inspired good Q & A sessions with the packed and enthusiastic audience and there were prints by Mark around the room as a bonus. It wonderful curtain raiser for our own AV night 27th July

Four very different subjects but all had in common an amazing, beautifully photographed, diverse array of people of all shapes and sizes. It made you proud of the human race! In the un-posed street portraits Mark was a master of sharpness, depth of field control and selective colour de-saturation. In contrast, the Notting Hill shots were bursting with vibrant colour and the capture of tennis players in extreme action would grace the sports pages of any newspaper

Altogether, a very good night – let’s hope Paul can entice Mark back to show is more
