Club Night News: 13th April

An Evening with our own Assignment Group: an AV Extravaganza

And what a great show it was! Terrific photography by a large number of members beautifully projected via our state of the art equipment with an amazing, mood enhancing, sound track. Co producer John Carter selected images from 10 Assignments in 2016, no easy feat with thousands to choose from. Fellow producer David Forster spent many a happy hour crafting the AV as only he can. His music selection was a play list to die for. Clearly he is a music lover, in fact a music collector, as well as a photographer with an artist’s eye

John and David organise the Assignment outings and review nights, spend hundreds of hours creating the AVs … and still carried out their Mr Coffee and Mr Tea duties on the night … and enjoyed every minute. That’s volunteering DPS style!

Assignments have been going since 2010 if not before, providing unique collective photography experiences with great learning and social benefits and are open to all Durham PS members

Situations “Vacant”

There are always rewarding volunteering opportunities at Durham PS. Currently for instance:

We need a new Treasurer to take over from Dave Murrell who is also Vice President. Speak to Dave for more information

We’re looking for a member to join the sound engineering and projection team (The Lanternists). John Attle and Ian Peele can tell you more

We also need someone, ideally more than one, to be part of the Website team. Speak to Peter Walton, Dave Murrell or Tony Griffiths

If you would like to know about volunteering in general have a chat with General Secretary Mike Boult

This Weekend

Enjoy your Easter break! Perhaps taking a look at classic cars at Ryhope on Sunday. Take time to plan the rest of April, packed with events of interest to photographers, on Mike Boult’s Hot Dates page here
