Alan Brown: Straight Talking
The inimitable Alan Brown was on top form last night, effortlessly commanding the rapt attention of a packed audience from start to finish. For once, words had as much impact as pictures and combined to stimulate even better reactions and repartee from the lively crowd. Just some of the promised headline topics were Gravity Shifts, Visual Rhetoric, Red Doors, Mills and Boon and fauxtography! The photography on themes such as surveillance society and the juxtaposition between advertising’s ideals and real life were stunningly good and went down a storm. It was great to have both prints and PDI. This was an inspiring, entertaining, thought provoking, laugh out loud great night out for all present and we all look forward to Alan’s return to Durham sooner rather than later
